Over the last few weeks, Shatha khalifeh has been collecting natural materials such as flowers and roots in her homeland Jordan. She then experimented with how best to display these materials. The collection was put into small molds filled with epoxy resin. In some cases, fluorescent color was added to the epoxy resin, creating an incredible effect. The plant parts hardly seem natural anymore or as if they were actually in the resin. It creates more of an x-ray impression. Shatha khalifeh plans to continue these experiments in Tunis and to create different effects with the help of light sources. Light becomes a mediator between the natural and the unnatural.
