“Through my journey in research, the most fascinating fact that captured me is that the average rate of energy capture by photosynthesis globally is approximately 130 terawatt, which is about eight times the current power consumption of human civilization.”
Yazan’s work is a social commentary on human consumption and its impact on the planet and themselves, through this work, the Jordan-based artist wants to visually represent that, as the projected “photosynthesis” huge surface area is interrupted and defused by 5 small lightbulbs “humans”. Representing the difference in energy levels consumed by both, plants and humans, in their own ways yet the difference in the outcome of that energy consumption from both.
